Gaddafi: The Facts

by Julius Sequerra – Jan 19, 2015

In regard to Libya’s free education system mentioned in the article below: I knew two Libyan cadets who attended the flight school I did in Scotland; they were my good friends. They soon graduated, returned to Libya, and went on to fly for their national airline. They told me they were from poor Bedouin families, in remote tribes. Not only was their entire schooling in Libya (since childhood) absolutely free, 100% of their education in the UK — flight tuition, board, lodging, clothing, personal vehicle — was also paid for by the government of Libya. And these weren’t government loans — they were unconditionally gifts given to all Libyans, regardless of their ethnic origin, who met the requisite academic criteria for further education.

What do you think of when you hear the name Colonel Gaddafi? Tyrant? Dictator? Terrorist? Well, a national citizen of Libya may disagree but we want you to decide.

For 41 years until his demise in October 2011, Muammar Gaddafi did some truly amazing things for his country and repeatedly tried to unite and empower the whole of Africa.

So despite what you’ve heard on the radio, seen in the media or on the TV, Gaddafi did some powerful things that are not characteristic of a “vicious dictator” as portrayed by the western media.

Here are ten things Gaddafi did for Libya that you may not know about…

Muammar Gaddafi Libya
1. In Libya a home is considered a natural human right

In Gaddafi’s Green Book it states: ”The house is a basic need of both the individual and the family, therefore it should not be owned by others”. Gaddafi’s Green Book is the formal leader’s political philosophy, it was first published in 1975 and was intended reading for all Libyans even being included in the national curriculum.
2. Education and medical treatment were all free

Under Gaddafi, Libya could boast one of the best healthcare services in the Middle East and Africa. Also if a Libyan citizen could not access the desired educational course or correct medical treatment in Libya they were funded to go abroad.
3. Gaddafi carried out the world’s largest irrigation project

The largest irrigation system in the world also known as the great manmade river was designed to make water readily available to all Libyan’s across the entire country. It was funded by the Gaddafi government and it said that Gaddafi himself called it ”the eighth wonder of the world”.

4. It was free to start a farming business

If any Libyan wanted to start a farm they were given a house, farm land and live stock and seeds all free of charge.
5. A bursary was given to mothers with newborn babies

When a Libyan woman gave birth she was given 5000 (US dollars) for herself and the child.
6. Electricity was free

Electricity was free in Libya meaning absolutely no electric bills!
7. Cheap petrol

During Gaddafi’s reign the price of petrol in Libya was as low as 0.14 (US dollars) per litre.
8. Gaddafi raised the level of education

Before Gaddafi only 25% of Libyans were literate. This figure was brought up to 87% with 25% earning university degrees.
9. Libya had It’s own state bank

Libya had its own State bank, which provided loans to citizens at zero percent interest by law and they had no external debt.
10. The gold dinar

Before the fall of Tripoli and his untimely demise, Gaddafi was trying to introduce a single African currency linked to gold. Following in the foot steps of the late great pioneer Marcus Garvey who first coined the term ”United States of Africa”. Gaddafi wanted to introduce and only trade in the African gold Dinar – a move which would have thrown the world economy into chaos.

The Dinar was widely opposed by the ‘elite’ of today’s society and who could blame them. African nations would have finally had the power to bring itself out of debt and poverty and only trade in this precious commodity. They would have been able to finally say ‘no’ to external exploitation and charge whatever they felt suitable for precious resources. It has been said that the gold Dinar was the real reason for the NATO led rebellion, in a bid to oust the outspoken leader.

So, was Muammar Gaddafi a Terrorist?

Few can answer this question fairly, but if anyone can, it’s a Libyan citizen who has lived under his reign? Whatever the case, it seems rather apparent that he did some positive things for his country despite the infamous notoriety surrounding his name. And that’s something you should try to remember when judging in future.

This quirky video documentary spells out an interesting, if rather different, story from the one we think we know.

Have you ever dreamed about having super powers? Most likely if you are anything like me you have fantasized about having extraordinary abilities such as super strength or moving objects with your mind.

We have found 16 examples of people who claim to have developed some extraordinary abilities. Perhaps we are evolving into a world of zero limits.

1. X-Ray Vision

Natasha DemkinaNatasha Demkina is a Russian woman who claims to be able to see into peoples bodies. Just like an X-ray machine she is able to detect problems inside of people and diagnose them.

Natasha was a normal kid up until the age of ten according to her mother. At that age her abilities began to manifest.

“I was at home with my mother and suddenly I had a vision. I could see inside my mother’s body and I started telling her about the organs I could see. Now, I have to switch from my regular vision to what I call medical vision. For a fraction of a second, I see a colorful picture inside the person and then I start to analyze it.” says Demkina

2. Magnetic Body

3_liew-thow-linLiew Thow Lin is a man from Malaysia who can stick metal objects into his body. Although scientists cannot detect anything going on with the magnetics of his body he is able to hold and balance a unique amount of metal objects on his skin.

3. Super Human Memory:

daniel-tammetDaniel Temmet is able to memorize incredible amounts of information. For example he was able to recite Pi up to 22,514 digits in five hours and nine minutes on 14 March 2004.

Most Savants are not able to explain how they accomplish their amazing abilities but Daniel is different. He explains that in his mind every whole number up to 10,000 has its own unique texture, color, shape and feel. This has helped him to remember things visually much easier then the average person.

In his experience the visual image of 289 as very ugly, 333 is particularly attractive, and pi is beautiful. Perhaps this is how the frequency of numbers and numerology work with the logical world.

4. No Need for Sleeping:

Imagine what life would be like if you didn’t need to sleep? I know we would miss out on a lot of fun dreams but what could we accomplish? Well Al Herpin cant sleepwas a man who knew what that was like.

Al Herpin claimed to have a rare type of insomnia where he didn’t need to sleep and at one point in his life had apparently been awake for over 10 years. This attracted the attention of medical professionals who investigated further.

They found no bed, or sleeping place in Al Herpin’s home. He claimed to go to work and then sit in his rocking chair reading until it was time to go to work the next day. He was found to be in good health and also lived to the old age of 94.

5. Stomach of Steel:

MrEatsEverythingMichel Lotito was known for his ability to eat non-digestable objects without any bad effects. He was seen to consume glass, metal, rubber and other objects. Do not try this at home.

6. Super Language Abilities:

220px-Dr_Harold_Whitmore_WilliamsThe average person on earth is estimated to only be able to speak 1.69 languages. Harold Williams, on the other hand was able to speak 58 different languages.

Harold was a normal kid until the age of 7 when he describes having an ‘Explosion in his brain’. After that he learned latin, which is the root to many languages, and couldn’t get enough.

He spent his life traveling the world going region by region learning all the languages he could.

7. Eagle Vision (20x more acute than the rest of us):

binocularsVeronica Seider holds the world record for being able to see the smallest object without assistance from technology.

In 1972 the University of Stuttgart, in then West Germany, reported that one of their students; Veronica Seider had a visual acuity 20 times better than average person. For example she could identify people at a distance of more than a mile away (1.6 km).

The typical person would need a set of binoculars to be able to accurately accomplish that.

8. Sonar Vision (like Bats or Dolphins):

The-Boy-with-Sonar-Vision-Ben-UnderwoodBen Underwood is an extraordinary person with the ability to see using Human Echolocation. Ben lost his eyes to cancer and is completely blind. However, using a series of clicking noises Ben is able to navigate the world around him.

Check out this awesome video about Ben transcending limitations and living a regular life.

9. High pain tolerance:

Tim-CridlandNow we have heard of people using meditation to ease the pains of child birth but Tim Cridland has decided to use his high tolerance for pain as a means of performance and entertainment.

“There is nothing abnormal about me physically. Everything I’ve done, I’ve trained myself to do. I’d say what I’m doing is demonstrating some kind of extreme examples of what you can do with your mind and combining that with your body. You could take the same techniques I use to overcome pain and use them in your own life to inspire you to persevere against the pains in life we all have to deal with.” Tim Cridland – Speaking in Faze Magazine

10. Communicating with Animals:

Kevin_Richardson_with_lionsKevin Richardson is a south african animal behaviorist who had been accepted into several lion prides and clans of hyenas.

He has broken almost every safety rule in the book and says he focuses more on intuition than traditional knowledge when it comes to his interactions with these wild animals.

Imagine a world where we all lived in harmony with the animals around us.

11. Sensory Abilities and the Recognition of Music

imagesArthur Lintgen is an american physicist who can look at phonograph records and recognize the song. He says he is able to look at the grooves and recognize the song recorded. He can also tell if the song is being played loud or quiet based on his ability to focus in on the little details of the records.

12. Human computer:

Shakuntala_DeviShakuntala Devi was a woman born in India with the natural ability to calculate numbers beyond normal human abilities. Even at the very young age of 6 and without formal training she was demonstrating her abilities to calculate and memorize in the University of Mysore.

She has been tested many times and has been able to do all of these calculations in her head. For example when she was tested at The University of California Berkley where she was asked to accurately calculate the cube root of 61,629,875, and the seventh root of 170,859,375 she passed with flying colors.

13. Photographic Memory:

images-1Stephen Wiltshire is a British architectural artist who can look at a landscape once and then draw it with perfect accuracy.

“He frequently draws entire cities from memory, based on double, brief helicopter rides. For example, he produced a detailed drawing of four square miles of London after a single helicopter ride above that city. His nineteen-foot-long drawing of 305 square miles of New York City is based on a single twenty-minute helicopter ride” -Wikipedia

14. Long Distance Running (100 miles, JUST FOR FUN.):

220px-Tarahumaras1There is a group of natives in northwestern Mexico called the Tarahumara People who are known for their ability to run very long distances. The Tarahumara word that they call themselves is Rarámuri which means “runners on foot” or “those who run fast”.

They have reported to run 200 miles (320 km) in one session typically over a period of two days.

People with Real Life Superpowers In The World Dean-Karnazes1

This isn’t the only case of people being able to run crazy long distances. There is a man named Dean Karnazes who ran 350 miles (560 km) in 80 hours and 44 minutes without sleep in 2005.

15. Iceman

imgres-2Wim Hof is a man in his 50s who has pushed the limits of cold all over the world. In the past 35 years have faced all kinds of challenges and holds 20 guinness world records.

He climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Everest in shorts, broke records by swimming under ice water, and ran half a marathon in the desert without drinking.

Wim uses a breathing meditation technique that makes it so he doesn’t feel the cold in the same way we do. He claims it has enhanced his immune system and that he doesn’t suffer any bad effects from this ice dips.

16. Super Human Reflexes

Isao Machii is a Japanese Iaido master who has the quickest reflexes in the world. He holds many world records for his quick sword skills. Check out the video below to see him attempt to cut a shot BB in half.

Perhaps the limits we think we have are just in our minds.

This is absolutely amazing. In this diagram, the digits in the fibonacci sequence are summed together and turned into a sequence of digital roots. The first 24 numbers in the sequence are then drawn around a circle. And in my opinion there are 3 incredible things happening here: 1) The first 24 numbers are part of a repeating sequence, and when they are placed around the circle, a beautiful symmetry appears, that relates directly with the 60degree segments in a circle (360deg/6). This might also be related to the 24 rays of the prime number cross! 2) Notice how all the opposite numbers always show up together: 1-8, 2-7, 4-5, 3-6, 9-9. This pattern is connected to the Vedic Square because the columns in the vedic square have the same 1-8, 2-7, 4-5, 3-6, and 9-9 patterns. So thru digital roots, there is a connection between Phi and the ancient Vedic square.
3) The digital root of the doubling sequence gives the repeating numbers 1-2-4-8-7-5. It turns out that 1/7 has the same repeating sequence of numbers except in a slightly inverted order: 1-4-2-8-5-7 Note that 22/7 is often considered the most natural approximation for pi. And within those numbers we see the same 1-8, 2-7, and 4-5 pattern – without the 3,6,9 (which form the ‘frame’ in the diagram) Digital roots and vortex maths are very exciting…

Makar Sankranti is famous for its sesame sweets and kite flying. But there is much more to this festival that is a celebration of the Winter Solstice. Sadhguru looks at the significance of this festival of movement, and explains how it is based on a profound understanding of cosmic and human geometry.

Sadhguru: Makar Sankranti is celebrated as a very important festival in India. Sankranti literally means “movement.” Everything that we recognize as life is movement. Fortunately, people who came before us have moved on, and people who come after us are waiting for us to move on – don’t have any doubts about this. The planet is moving and that is why it churns up life. If it were still, it wouldn’t be capable of life. So there is something called movement in which every creature is involved, but if there has to be movement, this movement has to be housed ¬– this movement can only happen in the lap of stillness. One who does not touch the stillness of his life, one who does not touch the stillness of his being, one who does not know or has not tasted the stillness within and without, will invariably get lost in the movement.

Movement is pleasant only to a point. The planet earth is moving gently in such a beautiful manner – it is only changing seasons. Tomorrow, if it just speeds up, throttles up a little bit, then all our seemingly balanced minds will become imbalanced, everything will spin out of control. So movement is beautiful only to a certain point. Once it crosses that point, movement becomes torture.
The Significance of Makar Sankranti

The significance of the Makar Sankranti festival is that it marks the day where there is a significant movement in the zodiac – the arrangement of the earth’s dial around the sun – and this movement brings about a new change in the way we experience the planet itself. There are many sankrantis through the year; the two significant ones being Makar Sankranti, and right opposite, after summer solstice is Karka Sankranti. In between, there are many Sankrantis – every time the zodiac sign changes, it is called a Sankranti to suggest the movement of the planet, to understand that our life is sustained and nourished by this movement. If this movement ceases, everything about us will cease. On the 22nd of December, the solstice happened, that means in relation to the sun, the movement or the tilt of the planet reaches its maximum. Now, from this day onwards, the northern movement is strong. Things really start changing upon the earth. From Makar Sankranti onwards, winter is being relieved step by step.

This movement is also a significant aspect in the way we reap from this planet. There was a time when human beings could eat only what the earth offered. Then we learned how to get what we wanted from the earth; this is called agriculture. When we were hunting and gathering, we only picked up what was there. It is like when you were an infant, you ate or swallowed whatever your mother gave you. When you became a child, you asked for what you wanted. So we grew up a bit and started demanding and getting what we wanted, but still, you can only get what you want to a point that She is willing. If you stretch it beyond that, you will not only not get it, you will get something else. That is called industrialization. Agriculture is coaxing the Mother to give what you want. Industrialization is ripping her apart. I am not speaking against something. I want you to understand the way our minds are transiting, the way human activity is transiting from one level to another.

So this is a day when we remind ourselves that everything that we are is what we take from this planet. I see everywhere in the world, people are talking about giving. I don’t know from where they give. You can only take – either you take gently or you grab. Did you come with your own property from somewhere? What is there to give? You can only take. Everything is offered. Take sensibly, that is all there is.
The harvest festival

The Makar Sankranti festival is also known and referred to as the harvest festival because this is the time when harvesting is complete and there are big celebrations. This is the day we acknowledge all those who assisted in making the harvest. The farm animals play a huge role in harvesting, so the following day is for them and is called Mattu Pongal. The first day is for the earth, the second is for us and the third is for the animals and livestock. See, they are placed a little higher than us because we exist because of them, they do not exist because of us. If we were not here, they would all be free and happy. But if they were not here, we couldn’t live.

These festivals are a reminder that we need to craft our present and our future in a conscious manner. Right now, we have harvested the previous year’s crop. How to create the next one is being consciously planned by taking the animals also into a consultative process. You should see how it happens in remote villages. There are only a few remote ones left because in the last few years, everyone has a cell phone and even Internet kiosks. But in the remote parts of India, you must see how the future crops are planned in the village. It is something so amazing and fantastic. I have had the fortune of being a part of this and these meetings are done in such a way that the animals are also there. It is not that someone is going to ask them what to do, but they are also very much a part of these meetings. How they evaluate how the animals in the village are, what age they are, how strong they are, can they take something up or not, is a very beautiful and organic process.
Cosmic connect

So Makar Sankranti is a festival for harvest. But there are celestial and spiritual connotations to it as well. It arose from certain yogic practices that common people took up in ways that were relevant to them. This time is most important for yogis to make a new, fresh effort in their spiritual process. Accordingly, people who have family also make a fresh attempt in whatever they do in their lives.

Many aspects of the yogic system were evolved and developed based on the connection between the celestial system and the human system, in order to make use of the changes in position that happen in an incremental way, from moment to moment, minute to minute, hour to hour, day to day.

For example, the number 108 is significant in many ways in the construction of the human system and the larger solar system. Traditionally, if you wear a mala, it has 108 beads. If you chant a mantra or go around an energy space, it is 108 times. This is because there are 108 things that one needs to do if one wants to have a complete mastery over the human mechanism. In the human body, there are 114 chakras or points where the nadis or energy channels meet in the body. Of these 114, 2 are outside the physiological framework. Of the 112 chakras that are within the physiological framework, actual work needs to be done on 108. If you manage to activate these 108, the remaining 4 will naturally open up.

This is also beautifully manifested in the planetary system in which we live. The diameter of the Sun is 108 times the diameter of the Earth. The distance between Sun and Earth is 108 times the diameter of the Sun. The distance between Moon and Earth is 108 times the diameter of the Moon. And there are 108 padas (steps) in one lunar year. Planet Earth takes 13 ½ lunar revolutions or one solar year to complete its orbit around the Sun. In this orbit it arranges itself in 27 nakshatras or 108 padas, almost like the beads of a mala. Makar Sankranti marks the completion of and the beginning of a new cycle.
Makar Sankranti – Festival of movement

So Makar Sankranti is a festival to recognize the movement, movement being celebration, movement being life, movement being the process of life and the beginning and the end of life. At the same time, the word ‘shankara’ is used to remind you that the one behind this, Shiva, is a still one; stillness is the basis of movement. Though all the other planets are moving, the most important one is not moving. If the sun also takes a walk, then we are in trouble. He hangs there not moving. That is why everybody else’s movement is okay. But his stillness is relative because the whole solar system may be moving; the whole galaxy may be moving. So beyond that, the space which holds all this is absolute stillness.

When a human being makes the necessary effort to touch the stillness within himself, only then he knows the joy of movement. Otherwise, people are bewildered by the movement of life. Every change that happens in their life they suffer. These days, the so-called modern life is like this ¬– any change means you must suffer. Childhood is tension, puberty is great suffering, middle age is unbearable, old age is abhorred and feared, and death is celebration – no that is pure terror. Every stage of life is a problem because people have a problem with movement, not understanding that the very nature of life is movement. You can only enjoy and celebrate movement if you have one leg stuck in stillness. If you know what stillness is then movement would be a pleasure. If you do not know what stillness is, if you have no contact with stillness, movement is bewildering.

People are trying to track the movement. Looking at the stars, looking at lines in their hands and looking at all kinds of signs including the tea leaves. People want to read the movement of their lives somehow. This struggle with movement, this paranoia about movement, is happening because there is no taste of stillness. If there was a taste of stillness in you, movement would not disturb you. It is something which sets a certain rhythm. Every rhythm has a beginning and an end; every movement has a beginning and an end. Movement means that which is in transition. Stillness means that which always is. Movement means compulsiveness, stillness means consciousness.

The significance of Makar Sankranti is that it is the time to remind yourself that celebrating movement is possible only when there is a taste of stillness within you.

Ipoteza mea:

Nedumeriti, am continuat in acea directie si ne-am trezit plutind printr-un canion larg, ce ducea in interiorul Pamantului.
